Real estate is a commission business with no guaranteed income. Here is exactly what that means, and what nothing on this website promises.
Effective September 16, 2026
Real estate is a commission business. RE/MAX Premier Realty does not promise, guarantee, or predict that you will earn any particular amount of money, or any money at all, as a real estate agent. Some agents build strong businesses. Some earn very little. Some leave the business. Your results will be your own.
We say this plainly on our pages and on the discovery call because we would rather you hear it from us now than discover it later.
Nothing on this website, in our emails or text messages, or on the weekly discovery call is a promise or guarantee of earnings, a projection of what you will earn, or a statement of what a typical agent earns. Any reference to income potential, flexibility, financial freedom, or "no ceiling" describes what is possible in a commission-based career. It does not describe what is probable, typical, or guaranteed.
Real estate agents affiliated with RE/MAX Premier Realty are independent contractors, not employees. That means there is no salary, no hourly wage, and no guaranteed paycheck. It also means no employer-provided health insurance, retirement plan, paid time off, or unemployment coverage. You are responsible for your own taxes, insurance, and business expenses.
This website is for prospective real estate agents. It is not an offer of employment, and booking or attending a discovery call does not create any agreement between you and the brokerage.
Your income as an agent depends on many factors, most of them outside our control, including:
The offices, training, leads, marketing help, and broker access we describe are tools. They can improve your odds. They cannot guarantee an outcome.
Becoming and remaining a licensed real estate agent costs money before you earn any. Costs may include pre-license coursework, state application and exam fees, fingerprinting, post-license and continuing education, association and MLS dues, errors and omissions insurance, brokerage fees, marketing, transportation, and technology. You may spend this money and not earn it back.
For that reason, we encourage career changers to get licensed and begin part-time while keeping their current income and benefits, and to build a cash cushion before going full-time.
Course hours, exam requirements, fees, timelines, and renewal rules described on this website reflect our understanding of Florida requirements as of the date they were written. They are set by the Florida Real Estate Commission and the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, and they change. Confirm current requirements and fees with those agencies or an approved real estate school before you rely on them.
Any agent story, example, or testimonial on this website describes that individual's own experience. It is not a claim that you will achieve the same or similar results. Agent stories are published only with the agent's consent, and agents are not paid for them. Results vary from person to person.
Surveys and statistics we cite about teaching, nursing, or other professions come from third parties and are provided for context. We believe our sources are reliable, but we do not guarantee their accuracy, and they are not predictions about your career.
Statements about what your first year, your first 90 days, or your future business "could" or "might" look like are illustrations, not forecasts. Actual results differ, sometimes significantly.
Nothing on this website or on the discovery call is financial, legal, tax, or career advice. Leaving a job, changing careers, or moving your license to another brokerage is a significant decision. Talk with your own financial, legal, and tax advisors, and review your current employment or brokerage agreements, before you decide.
Each RE/MAX office is independently owned and operated. RE/MAX Premier Realty is responsible for the content of this website. RE/MAX, LLC is not responsible for the statements made here and does not guarantee the earnings of any agent. Equal Housing Opportunity.
